casino bonus chasing
Havent played much poker latley....
Earlier this week they found a tumor in my 1 year old son, so ive been to Johns Hopkins about every day this week and I come home at night to take care of my other son while my wife or mother stay the night with Gavin. This really hits home since my wife's mother died of cancer about 10 years ago.
Really dont want to go into details because its too sad for me but I will get back into the playing eventully.
Man this week has been crazy, deposited $80 about a week ago on full tilt and started at the .05/.10 NL games. These limits really, really, really are boring but since low bankroll I decided to give it a shot for a little while. My bankroll went up and down for a little while and was taking forever to clear bonus so I moved up to the .25/.50 NL games and again I took some terrible beats and made some great moves and my bankroll ended up about $160 with the help of some deposit bonus's. Well I took some real real real bad beats today like when my KK got cracked by AJ suited when he hit his flush on the turn, we where all in pre-flop. My bankroll was now about $120 and I stopped and went over to the $1/$2 limit tables.
Well my bankroll began to increase very slowley and my bonus was clearing faster, I tried to make some moves and it went back down and then made some plays and it went back up. Well to make a long story short im at about $217 right now and very happy about this. I really like this limit and will continue to multi-table it, I will right back next week and see how im doing.
I have recently calmed down from my blowout at FullTilt, talked to gambleAB on full tilt which I actully used to play MTG with. Well I have picked up 3 shifts this weekend which covers the $250 I need to deposit on the 5th now all I have to do is pick up 3 next weekend for the bills and im set. I have been watching the .25/.50 $50 NL tables at full tilt and I'am very interested in them the players there are really bad. One guy came in with I think it was 88 and the flop came out 10 high I think it was and this guy pushed all in on the flop he got called by someone rocking KK and someone else rocking QQ. Needless to say he lost, then he bought back in and pushed all in pre-flop with J4, guess this is what they call a very bad tilt. I was wishing I had money on the system because it seemed like he was just giving it away. Plan on doing some freerolls for next 2 weeks I hate them but it is the only option I have right now.
Welp it seems like my wife is going back to work the 1st of the month hopefully which means I have to start working weekends which in turn kills any chance for me to drive up to Atlantic City. Looks like online might be my only outlet for poker, if anyone out there has any advice for handleing the swings of online poker please leave me a message. My favorite game to play is the $25 NL tables because usually people will chase with terrible odds but latley they have been hitting like crazy and wipeing out my bankroll.
Ok well Ive been doing alot of thinking and have changed my mind once again, instead of spending my money online think I will take a trip to AC next month to play. Something about playing on the felt that I like just so much more, I will write when the time comes closer.
I will be depositing $250 into party poker the 5th of next month, if I happen to lose that im done with online poker and Im gonna stick to going to the casino. Now im not saying im some awsome felt player but I have had much better success at the felt then on the net. So online poker this is your last chance to show me that I belong with you but if I get sucked out and outdrawn as much as I have the past 2 weeks I dont see a bright future for us.
OMG this is so gay, I have been outdrawn so freaking much latley. My AK losing to J4, yes freaking J4. Ill tell you one thing once I clear my bonus at full tilt I will never play on that site again, the best hands never win! Deposited $50 today for the hell of it and got outdrawn about 20 times, that is fucking stupid. I got my money in with the best hand over and over and watched me get outdrawn and some complete moron drag the pot.
well this instalment of my quest for $1,500 is over, I was playing yesturday and god did I play sooooo stupid. I was sooo careless yesturday calling KJ os in early position and Q10 os in early position, not reading the board correctly, pushing when I didnt have the nuts, the list goes on and on. I know better then this and Im better then this but I have been making soooo many careless mistakes latley that just cost me $300 but I totally deserve to lose that money, I played like all the people I usually love to play against. Well I got to hit up some overtime so I can deposit next month and try this again, gonna re-read alot of my books and try to plug up all my holes in my game.
Wow thinking back on last night and this morning cant believe how I played, I can honestly say I was the biggest sucker on fulltilt poker last night. I did get in with the best hand a couple times and get outdrawn but mostly I just called bets when I knew I didnt have the best hand. I mean who the fuck calls a 3 dollar raise with Q-10. And of course the flop comes down QQK and guess what the guy has KK, If I never would of been in that hand to begin with I wouldnt of had that problem. I also cant believe I checked a set on the flop with 2 to the flush showing then when the flush hit I went all in for $85, omg what was I thinking, I gave him a free card then when his hand hit I gave him free money what a bonehead play that was.
So all in all I pretty much gave my money away to players that are 10x worse then me just because of my stupidness, but I learned a valuable lesson from all this and I think my game is gonna take a dramatic turn for the better because of this missfortune. I have never been a quiter so im not gonna let this little misfortune get to me.
Ok here is my update, I have just figured out that Im really not a good limit player but I do pretty good in No limit here is my story so far.
Friday I deposited $300 into full tilt and at the end of the day I was looking at $80, I lost $240 in limit poker. So Saturday I started to play the .05/.10 no limit games and made about $70 to bring my bankroll up to $150. Well I decided to move up a level and I have think I have found my home at .10/.25 NL tables the games are very soft but you can push people out of pots given the right spot. So right now my bankroll is sitting at about $302 with the help of $40 of my $300 dollar bonus being gained. Ok alittle bit about the bonus on full tilt, Its a bitch to clear but its easier in no limit games ive cleared $40 of the $300 so far and dont see me getting the rest for at least another month but its ok I got time.
I had a awsome day of poker yesturday where I had tables scared of me and I had players that will only sit to my left. I remember this one guy I played where we raised eachother preflop until we were both all-in preflop I show him my KK and he flips over AA. I think to myself OMG Ive been outplayed so the flop comes down all blanks with 3 diamonds, I look over at his aces and notice he has no diamonds but im holding the king of diamons. Welp no diamons on the turn and none on the river BUT the king hits the river LUCKY ME. That was the worst hand I played all day the rest of the day I either outplayed my opponents with nothing or showed down the best hand.
All in all I had a great day and cant wait to play some more, Im just hoping all the NL games are this soft.
OK, Its Wednesday and I just got back from doing my taxes. Im gonna deposit $300.00 into full tilt either tommorrow or Friday. I have a double tommorrow at work so might not have time to deposit, as soon as I deposit Im gonna withdraw $200.00 and have it waiting for party poker's monthly bonus. Its gonna take awhile for me to clear full tilts deposit bonus but when I do I will be $300.00 richer hopefully. I have 180 days to clear it I think even I can do that! Will write back later next week to let you all know how I'am doing.
Well here is some good news, my wife did our tax returns today and it looks like im getting back around 3,000.00. The power of having kids :) so I will be funding my firepay account a little early this month. I think im gonna put $100.00 into full tilt since there offering a awsome deposit bonus.
On a side note I'd like to recomend a forum to everyone go to http://www.talkingpoker.com there are some really great players on there with some really great advice. I have personally had a terrible time on there but that was my own doing. The forum in general is a great outlet for anyone who is a good poker player or one that is getting to that level. The admin for that forum is a very fair and down to earth guy and 99% of the users on there are very smart players that can help you fine tune your game.
I'll write back in the middle of the month to let you all know how I'am doing!
